Attendance

Good attendance means maximising the chances to be successful in life.

We want children to make the most of the opportunities to succeed and achieve in school. Good attendance is a vital part of this. Time away from school leads to gaps in understanding, lower attainment, underdeveloped life-skills and a reduction in self-esteem.

Our aim is for every child to want to come to school because they love learning! Pupils should attend every day, unless they are significantly unwell, at an unavoidable medical appointment or there are exceptional circumstances which lead to an absence being authorised. Holidays may no longer be taken during term time.

Children’s attendance is RAG rated (Red, Amber, Green). This allows us to give targeted support to children and families who most need it to ensure attendance improves.
